Donations to our project for Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) are 100% deductible u/s 35AC and 8OGGA of Income Tax Act 1961.


Payment of any sum made to The Bridge Public Charitable Trust for carrying on the project - Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) in 23 tribal villages of Shahapur Taluka, Thane District - is allowable as a deduction u/s 35AC of Income Tax Act when computing business income. In case the contributor does not have business income then such amount paid by the contributor is allowable as a deduction u/s 8OGGA. The total project cost is Rs. 2.72 crores and the approval is cumulatively for three financial years: 2008- 2009, 2009-2010 and 2010-2011. (Notification No. S.0.2370(E) dated 3 October, 2008 issued by Ministry of Finance, Government of India on the recommendation of the National Committee).


In short, the gross taxable income of the contributors gets reduced by the amount of donation to the above mentioned project.
